Sway & Rachel
I have spent the last 15 years exploring my love of photography. I have shot lifestyle, products, architecture, and weddings. I’ve photographed events, professional portraits, and families. Through the years I narrowed done what I wanted to do professionally and that was to shoot lifestyle and product images. So that is what I’ve focused on professionally these last 6 years.
However God had different plans for us. Just like many of you, our lives have been far from perfect. These last 3 years has put our family through some knee deep shit. We have experienced pain and heartache. We have lost a child and found peace in our faith. We have been dealt addiction, job loss, trauma, and separation. We have also been blessed with recovery, joy, healing, a reunion, and above all love. Because of our faith in God we have been able to stitch and weave our family and our lives back together. And so, Stitched and Woven was born.
In these last 3 years I have been blessed to spend a lot of time with my children, time that I didn’t take before. In that time I heard God speaking to me through my children as I watched them grow. Naturally I turned to my passion, photography, to capture those moments with them. I fell in love with that. With capturing those moments in time that are so precious and so special that we want to hold onto them forever. Through photographing them, I realized that while I always got that perfect shot - or what we call the mantel shot - I absolutely loved all of the images in between. Those are the pictures that tell the true story of our family, the authentic story that shows where we are and where we have been. Those moments in between are what we are and will continue to be about as we capture those moments for other families.
